A different type of nutrition visit

What is Nutrition Response Testing?

Nutrition Response Testing, often shortened to NRT, combines traditional applied kinesiology muscle testing with nutritional deficiencies to help guide conversations about nutrition, lifestyle, undiagnosed symptoms, and supplementation.

A visit combines your health history and personal goals with gentle manual muscle-response observations. The information is used to organize wellness priorities and build a manageable plan.

Think of NRT as a structured starting point for people who know they want to improve their nutrition but are not sure what changes make sense for them.

Nutrition Response Testing FAQs

What happens during Nutrition Response Testing?

Your appointment begins with a conversation about your symptoms, health history, medications, supplements, and wellness goals. Your practitioner then uses non-invasive manual muscle testing and other NRT procedures to observe patterns and help guide your personalized recommendations.

Can NRT diagnose a medical condition?

No. NRT is not used to diagnose diseases, food allergies, hormonal disorders, or nutritional deficiencies. If your symptoms indicate that medical or laboratory testing may be appropriate, we may recommend that you contact the appropriate healthcare provider

Is Nutrition Response Testing painful?

No. NRT is non-invasive and does not involve needles. During manual muscle testing, your practitioner applies gentle pressure while you hold an arm or another muscle in position.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring a current list of your medications and supplements, along with any recent laboratory results you would like us to review. It can also be helpful to write down your primary symptoms, when they began, and what seems to improve or worsen them.

Do not stop taking prescribed medication unless the prescribing healthcare provider instructs you to do so.

Is NRT the same as bloodwork or laboratory testing?

No. Nutrition Response Testing is a complementary wellness technique. It does not measure nutrient levels and should not replace bloodwork, imaging, allergy testing, or a medical examination when those services are needed.

Will supplements be recommended?

Supplements may be recommended when they are considered appropriate for your individualized wellness program. Recommended products are purchased separately. We will explain why each product is being suggested and how it is intended to fit into your plan.

How many visits will I need?

The number and frequency of visits depend on your concerns, goals, and response to the program. Follow-up appointments allow us to monitor your progress and adjust your recommendations when needed.

Do you take insurance?

Davis Family Chiropractic is a cash-pay clinic and does not bill insurance directly. You may request an itemized receipt or superbill to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Coverage and reimbursement are determined by your insurance company and are not guaranteed.

Can I use NRT alongside my regular medical care?

Yes. NRT is intended to complement, not replace, appropriate medical care. Continue following the recommendations of your healthcare providers and keep them informed about the supplements and wellness services you use.
