IV Hydration Therapy FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About IV Hydration Therapy

Have questions about IV Hydration Therapy at Davis Family Chiropractic? Below are answers to common questions about getting started, preparing for your appointment, choosing an IV drip, optional add-ons, and what to expect before, during, and after your infusion.

Do I need to be an established patient?

No. You do not need to be an established patient at Davis Family Chiropractic to receive IV Hydration Therapy. New patients are welcome.

However, every IV Hydration Therapy patient must first complete an IV Hydration Physical and Consult before receiving an infusion. This helps us review your health history, discuss your wellness goals, and determine whether IV therapy may be appropriate for you.

How do I get started?

Call our office to schedule your IV Hydration Physical and Consult. During this visit, we will review your health history, complete the required consent forms, discuss available IV therapy options, and help determine which drip and treatment frequency may be appropriate.

After the consult, your IV appointment is typically scheduled about two weeks out so we can order the correct IV kit and any selected add-ons.

How much is the IV Hydration Physical and Consult?

The IV Hydration Physical and Consult is $25.

This consult is valid for one year unless your health or medical history changes. If your health history changes, a new evaluation may be required before receiving additional IV Hydration Therapy.

How long does an IV drip take?

Most IV therapy visits take about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, depending on the drip type.

We recommend planning for at least one hour unless our office gives you different instructions.

How often can I get IV therapy?

Frequency depends on your wellness goals, the type of IV drip selected, and your health history.

This will be discussed during your IV Hydration Physical and Consult so the schedule can be tailored appropriately.

What IV drips are available?

Current IV drip options include:

  • LiquiLift IV Drip
  • Fountain of Youth IV Drip
  • Performance Hydration IV Drip
  • Natural Defense IV Drip
  • Rise & Shine IV Drip
  • The Executive IV Drip
  • Glutathione IV Drip
  • Vitamin C IV Drip
  • NAD IV Drip

Each option has a different wellness focus, such as hydration support, antioxidant support, nutrient replenishment, amino acid support, or cellular energy support.

Can I add extra nutrients to my drip?

Some IV therapies may allow optional nutrient add-ons when appropriate.

Current add-on options include:

  • NAD
  • Glutathione
  • Ascorbic Acid / Vitamin C
  • AminoMultiPlex

Add-ons are discussed during your consult and depend on screening, selected drip type, and availability.

How should I prepare for my IV therapy appointment?

Before your IV therapy appointment, we recommend that you:

  • Wear clothing with sleeves that can roll above the elbow
  • Hydrate before your appointment
  • Eat before your visit
  • Move around before your appointment
  • Arrive with enough time to relax

Do not come in for IV therapy on an empty stomach unless specifically instructed otherwise.

What should I expect during my IV drip?

During your appointment, you will be seated comfortably while your IV infusion is administered. The total appointment time depends on the drip selected, but most visits take about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.

Some patients notice normal sensations during their IV, such as:

  • A cool feeling in the arm
  • Mild pressure
  • Tingling
  • Relaxation
  • A mineral or metallic taste or smell

Please alert our staff immediately if you feel burning, stinging, aching, swelling, nausea, lightheadedness, or any discomfort during your infusion.

Are there any side effects?

Some patients may experience mild or temporary sensations during or after IV therapy, such as coolness in the arm, mild pressure, tingling, relaxation, or a mineral/metallic taste or smell.

You should notify staff immediately if you experience:

  • Burning
  • Stinging
  • Aching
  • Swelling
  • Nausea
  • Lightheadedness
  • Discomfort at the IV site
  • Any unusual symptoms

Your safety is one of the reasons the IV Hydration Physical and Consult is required before treatment.

Who should not receive IV therapy?

IV therapy is not appropriate for everyone. Patients are screened before receiving treatment, especially for concerns such as:

  • Heart conditions
  • Kidney problems
  • Blood pressure issues
  • Diabetes
  • Pregnancy
  • Allergies
  • Asthma
  • Sulfa allergy
  • History of fainting or seizures
  • Swelling or edema
  • Electrolyte concerns
  • Prior severe reactions

Your IV Hydration Physical and Consult helps determine whether IV therapy is appropriate for you.

Is IV Hydration Therapy safe?

IV Hydration Therapy is generally well tolerated for appropriate candidates, but it is not right for everyone. That is why every patient must complete an IV Hydration Physical and Consult before receiving an infusion.

During your consult, we review your health history, current concerns, therapy goals, and any potential risk factors.

Will this replace my current medications?

No. IV Hydration Therapy is not a replacement for your current medications, routine medical care, emergency care, or treatment for a medical condition.

Do not stop or change any medication unless directed by your prescribing healthcare provider.

How will I feel after my infusion?

Every patient is different. Some people report feeling refreshed, hydrated, relaxed, or more energized after their infusion, while others may notice more subtle effects.

Your response can depend on your hydration status, selected drip, health history, and overall wellness needs.

Why is payment collected before the IV kit is ordered?

IV kits and add-ons are ordered specifically for each patient based on the selected therapy and treatment plan. Because of this, payment is collected up front before the kit is ordered.

Appointments are typically scheduled about two weeks out to allow time for the appropriate kits and add-ons to be procured.

Can I reschedule my IV therapy appointment?

Yes. IV kits are viable for approximately three months, and patients may reschedule within that three-month window.

Please call our office as soon as possible if you need to reschedule.

What happens if I cancel or no-show?

Cancellations or no-shows forfeit the purchase price. No refunds will be given.

Because IV kits are ordered specifically for each patient, it is important to keep your scheduled appointment or reschedule within the allowed three-month kit window.

Is IV Hydration Therapy covered by insurance?

Davis Family Chiropractic does not bill insurance for IV Hydration Therapy. Payment is due at the time of service or before your IV kit is ordered, depending on your treatment plan.
